But in the end it was the little known former stripper, who proved to be the ultimate survivor. Gigi, the owner of the popular Randburg strip club The Lollipop Lounge, this week became the fourth winner of M-Net's reality TV series Survivor: Santa Carolina. Beating well known TV face Ashley Hayden in the live finale this week, Gigi walked away with R500 000, the Survivor title and another R500 000 for a charity of her choice. Read more . . . At the Reunion Show, broadcast live from M-Net’s studios in Randburg, host, Nico Panagio read the votes cast by the jilted jury members at the final tribal council, which revealed a landslide victory for GiGi. Six of the jury members – all embittered by the way runner-up, Ashley Hayden, blindsided them to reach the top – voted for GiGi. The celebrity version of the show has each contestant choose a charitable organisation, meaning that 17 charities around South Africa will share a whopping R2.27-million kitty from the proceeds of the show. The finale of the 27-day reality show, screened on Wednesday, saw GiGi, a 42-year-old club owner and former exotic dancer, bag R530000 for her Houghton-based charity, The Hospice Association of the Witwatersrand.
